| Experience: | I have done tutoring in the past on Long Island. Mainly I helped out with different levels of mathematics, though I had one E.S.L. student who needed help with English reading and writing. I myself was an E.S.L. student once so I know the useful techniques which can make the process of learning English seem easier and faster. I moved here from Hungary nine years ago and speak English fluently. As a student myself, I know that it is important to stimulate and encourage children to engage in the subjects they have difficulties with. I am a psychology major at Hunter College and am looking to eventually work with children. I have experience working at a daycare and several babysitting positions. I believe that for students to improve their grades, they first need to develop confidence in that specific area.
I have worked with students with ADD/ADHD, as well as high functioning autistic children.
I have an A.A. Degree, Magna Cum Laude from Nassau Communtity College. I am a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society as well as the National Honor Society. |
