Experience:My high school stressed community service in every grade, and I was a member of my high school's National Honor Society, which meant additional community service. Among the many enterprises in which I engaged, tutoring struggling math students was a regular occupation. Throughout high school, I was also the go-to girl for any editing of papers. Both my parents are English Professors, so I grew up bathed in the subtleties of the English language and surrounded by writers. In all of my writing classes at NYU--both academic and creative--I've received A's. I'm a literature junkie--novels, short stories, poetry, and plays--and scored 5s on both my English Language and English Lit AP exams in high school. I've already taken two courses studying influential plays and Shakespeare; this coming semester, I'll be taking a Modern American and British poetry class. In high school, I received multiple writing awards. I am currently working on a collection of short stories. If anyone needs SAT help, then, I'd be more than happy to assist.

As both my parents are teachers, I seem to have inherited the teaching gene--or at least I've caught on to my parents' ways. I taught in a daycare last summer, and often end up assisting instructors in small classes, when they find it hard to reach their students. My strengths tend to lie in English--as you may have guessed--but I also scored a 5 on my Spanish Language AP exam, and have maintained a good deal of that. Also, as a Musical Theatre major, I've just completed a two-year music theory intensive and am always learning more about music, so I am qualified to help students struggling in music. I have a passion for music, literature, drama--and words, which are an element of all of the above. I have seen what a great impact teachers can have on students--not only because I've seen my parents' impact, but also because of the impact certain instructors have had on my life.
Hobbies:I adore literature and film. As a Musical Theatre student, I attend conservatory classes three days a week, which include singing, dancing, and acting classes. I'm also quite interested in history and politics; I'm especially excited to see how this com
